CENTILLIUM COMMUNICATIONS SELECTED BY FABLESS SEMICONDUCTOR ASSOCIATION FOR OUTSTANDING FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE AWARD

Centillium Recognized for Financial Performance Award Second Year in a Row

FREMONT, Calif., December 10, 2001 - Centillium Communications, Inc. [Nasdaq: CTLM], innovator of broadband communications technology, today announced that the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA) has selected the company for its outstanding financial performance over the last four completed fiscal quarters.

The FSA presents the Outstanding Financial Performance award annually to companies that doubled either revenue or net income, year-over-year, for the twelve-month period ending September 30, 2001.

In 1994, industry leaders incorporated FSA (www.fsa.org) to achieve a more optimal balance between wafer demand and capacity.
