CENTILLIUM COMMUNICATIONS INTEGRATES COPPER MOUNTAIN NETWORKS' TECHNOLOGY AND JOINS NEW COPPERSILICON INITIATIVE Centillium Communications Included in Program to Integrate Copper Mountain's Technology into its Industry Leading Chipsets to Support Voice Over DSL FREMONT, Calif.,
August 21, 2000 - Centillium Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTLM), innovator of broadband communications technology, today announced an expansion of its relationship with Copper Mountain Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: CMTN) to include participation in Copper Mountain's CopperSilicon Initiative. Centillium will incorporate Copper Mountain's intellectual property into its next-generation Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and Central Office (CO) chipsets to ensure full interoperability of Centillium-based CPE with Copper Mountain's family of DSL concentrators.
Centillium Communications and Copper Mountain Networks have been partners for over a year in marketing DSL equipment. Copper Mountain currently utilizes Centillium's innovative chipsets in line cards for its widely deployed family of DSL concentrators, which support full rate, Turbo G.lite, and G.lite ADSL services. Via the CopperSilicon Initiative, Centillium and Copper Mountain will collaborate on development of equipment supporting the VoDSL service market.
