CENTILLIUM COMMUNICATIONS AND HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES PARTNER TO SPONSOR INTERNATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATION UNION’S DSL STANDARDS MEETING IN CHINA

Leading Worldwide Telecommunications Suppliers to Participate

FREMONT, Calif., March 12, 2002 - Centillium Communications, Inc. [NASDAQ: CTLM], innovator of broadband communications technology, and Huawei Technologies Co., LTD, a leading supplier of telecommunications network equipment, have partnered to sponsor the upcoming International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) study group 15 Question 4 Rapporteur meeting. This meeting will take place at the Shanghai International Convention Center, Shanghai, China from March 18 to March 22, 2002.

At this meeting, leading DSL suppliers and operators from the USA, Canada, Europe, and Asia will study all aspects of modulation and transport techniques, spectrum management, handshaking and testing, and physical layer management procedures of transceivers for all types of DSL and in-premises phone line networking systems. This ITU-T DSL standards committee meeting in China marks the initial participation of officials from China’s telecommunications regulatory and supervisory body, major DSL suppliers from China, and representatives of organizations performing research in related fields.
