CENTILLIUM COMMUNICATIONS EXPANDS EVEN FURTHER INTO ASIAN MARKETS WITH OPENING OF TAIPEI OFFICE

New Taipei Office Demonstrates Centillium’s Leadership and Continued Commitment to Worldwide Broadband Communications Markets

FREMONT, Calif., August 27, 2002 - Centillium Communications, Inc. [NASDAQ: CTLM], innovator of broadband communications technology, today announces the company’s expansion into Taiwan’s broadband communications market with the opening of its Taipei office. The opening of the Centillium Taipei office will provide both technical and customer support at the local level to all of Centillium’s customers in Taiwan.
